We’re very pleased to announce that we’re now the U.K. distributor for The Ripple Maker, a machine that allows you to print customised art onto any kind of foam (although they currently focus on Coffees).

The machine is really easy to use both for an operator and consumer. Through the dedicated phone app, the user can take a selfie to upload or simply browse an existing catalogue of imagery to send to their nearest printer. The printer will store the image while you wait your turn to be served, allowing you to pick up your personalised latte-art when you’re ready.

The printer uses a form of fine coffee extract to produce the imagery, much like ink in an ink-jet printer. As long as the surface is lightly coloured and fairly stable, there shouldn’t be a problem with your design. We tested the coffee extract on a number of different cocktails and our amateur palates weren’t able to detect any change in flavour. This should make it safe and practical to use on almost any drink. You can see the interface for the operator above. It’s based on an Android tablet system and is incredibly easy to use. When setting up the user profile there’s the option for a quick tutorial which explains everything needed to operate the machine.

Local celebrities make for a great talking point in your bar or cafe.
